Is your business feeling the pressure?

Stress and mental health issues can impact you and your business.

Owners and managers of small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs), face many psychological and financial pressures, often without people or resources to turn to for support or the knowledge or skills to effectively manage these pressures. Stress and poor mental health can have enormous organisational, productivity, social and personal costs.

Remember “prevention is better than a cure”.

You don’t have to be currently experiencing an issue with stress or mental health, either personally or within your business, to benefit from being better informed and skilled in the promotion of mental health and wellbeing.

“Times are increasingly difficult for those working in small businesses. The demands are many and the supports few. I strongly encourage you to engage with this unique and much needed project, as an investment in yourself, your business, and the wider small business community.”  Geoff Fader, Chairman, Council of Small Business of Australia.

Minimise the impact of these common mental health concerns

Business in Mind is a free DVD and Resource Kit designed to help you look after your own mental health and wellbeing, and that of your employees, in the same way you manage any important organisational asset. It is available to all managers who register, including sole traders, managers, or employers of up to 200 staff.

Help develop a resource to manage the personal impact of business

The free dvd and resource kit is also being evaluated to provide valuable information for often under-resourced SMEs about how businesses can better cope with the impacts of poor mental health and stress and what can prevent problems occurring. This information will inform the development of future resources, tailored to this sector.
